Went to Guaymas today....

Went to guaymas today to get my visa renewed, and I got to see my best friend!! Elder Williams my comp from the MTC, I haven't seen him for 10 months, we almost cried when we saw each other, it was super good to see him, and also we went to Burger King haha, the sisters are also from our District in the MTC .

Today honestly was probably one of the best days of my mission. I was trying not focus too much on today leading up to it but it was so much fun. So we woke up and had to get to the bus station at like 7 and when I entered Elder Tanner and Hermana Burton were already there but I'm sure Elder Tanner and I looked like crazy people because we basically died. After like 5 minutes of freaking out we started talking and it didnt stop until when he had to stay on the bus in the afternoon and I had to get off. It was seriously soo awesome. Hermana Burton and Nielson another sister from our zone that is super cool sat in front of us so we talked with them the whole time sharing stories and talking.

Fiesta Days

WHoop whoop Fiesta Days, thats awesome haha, hope you guys are having lots of fun this week! and a very Happy Birthday to the best little sister in the WORLD :) Happy Birthday Syd :) I hope you have an awesome birthday and for your first car you get a Nimbus 2000 or a Firebolt ;) haha only Harry Potter fans are going to get that I love ya kid have a good birthday :) 

Its been a pretty good week this week, we got dumped on one of the days this week but I cant really remember which one it was haha, but it was a ton of rain the streets were filled and also in our new house haha well water gets in through the doors and the window that is right next to my bed. How did I find that out you might ask?? Well I was sleeping and a huge rainstorm hit, and I didn't realize it till I woke up with my sheets a little wet, and I was like "ahhh  man I havent peed the bed since I was like 6 why is this happening now in the mission" haha but then I saw a waterfall coming from the window onto my bed and I was like haha what a relief, so I got up to pull my bed from the window and as my feet hit the ground I felt abunch of water like a puddle, and I was so tired I didn't care I just pulled my bed from off the wall and away from the window and got back in my bed and went to sleep, but when I woke up the puddle was still there and it turned out that puddle was in the whole house!! haha because I was practically swimming from our room to the kitchen, haha I just grabbed a broom and starting sweeping it out the doors, haha my comp woke up and I was like wanna go swimming? haha it was kinda funny, our land lord said she will get that fixed hopefully before the next rainstorm :) everyone here hates the rain but I love it :) haha the streets get filled, and everyone hates it but I love it because it cools everything off.

This week was kinda hard for a lot of reasons, but we are doing good, so we went to teach Maricela and Nacho saturday and we taught them about faith and repentance and at the end we invited them to be baptized the 1 of August and Nacho kinda freaked out and was like I will never be baptized in another church!! we dont know what happened but he went kinda crazy and now doesn't want to be baptized we explained to him the importance of baptism and why it is in this church and how it is done, but he was still being stubborn and Maricela told us that if he wont be baptized then she won't either :( we were shocked really, it happened so fast, after teaching them so much it all just came down like that, I was super sad after the lesson because it happened just like that, and we didnt have any investigators in the church this week for that, but we are going to work really hard to find new investigators this week, thank you guys so much for the prayers and I'm super sorry for what happened but we will find the people that are ready for this message thank you all so much for your support and love, I love you guys so much and am so grateful to have you all in my life thank you,

Hey fam whats up?? How are you guys doing :) Sounds like you guys are having a good little summer vacation! Thats awesome :) Thats so cool that Jordan, Krystle and Nolan and baby (Paco) ( The name of the baby because I think its going to be a guy and I think the name Paco is pretty sick ) haha got to get the new house thats going to be an awesome experiance for them :) and Weston is headed out to guard this week, sounds like he is getting ready for October pretty crazy but he will do great :) :), shoot Syd got braces huh? poor thing wow, I remember my 2 years of braces haha the first part is the worst no worries lil squid :) you'll be alright your a tough one, you always took plenty of hits from me on the tramp ;), speaking of tramps haha I'm always looking for trampolines here!! haha I want to jump and do backflips right now! haha there is actually a member in our ward that has one I think so I think we will go visit her this week ;) Dad and Payton are in the "chamba" ( thats a way to say the hard work in español) thats good, work is awesome :) you guys going on the church yet? or when you going to start? 

This was a pretty good week :) we got to visit a lot of our investigatores but none came to church:(

 I'll get into that later, but remember how I had someting really cool to tell you guys!! haha well now I have 2!! really cool things to tell you guys! the first one is... I got a haircut today :) nahh I'm just playing but I really did get a hair cut today haha, but the really cool thing that happened last sunday and it was in a lesson with Alfonzo and Lucero, well first things first they arent married and Alfonzo was baptized a long time ago, but is now less active and they have little kids so we are trying to get them married, baptized and reactived haha its a fun little group to teach!! But we had a awesome lesson, we were teaching and I got done teaching about who God and Jesus Christ are and why they are important and my comp taught about families, and it was my turn to start talking about the prophets and who they are but I felt like I should keep talking about the family and why it is so important and how it can be eternal, also that I should invite them to get married!!! I thought it was just a super crazy thought because I'm not one to give marriage council when I'm not even married, so I hesitated a little bit but I ended up following the prompting and I started asking them questions about how long they would like to be together and what is the thing most important in this life and then I started to teach about the famliy and it was such a cool experience the entire room was filled with the spirit I talked about how we can have famlies eteranals and then talked about how grateful I am to have a family that has been sealed and the spirit was super strong and Alfonzo got a little teary eyed and it was awesome!! And then everyone was just quite and thats when I invited them to get married and they said yes!! it was so cool, we are hoping they follow through because I would love to see them get married and after have Lucero get baptized!!! So I dont have a lot more time but another crazy thing that happened this week is that a kid had a dream about me!! haha so we did divisions with the zone leaders and I went with one of the zone leaders to their area, and they didn't tell me but they are teaching this kid and said that he had a dream of kid giving him a baptism interview, and since I'm their distrcit leader I would give the kid the batism interview so they asked the kid how the person looked in the dream, and described me how I am haha, and they were like oh snap you dreamed about Elder Tanner!! and he's like whose that and they were like The Elder that is going to do your baptism interview!! haha super crazy and he had this dream at the perfect time because his Mom was having doubts about it but he had this dream and told her and the next day I went with one of the Elderes in divisions and we taught them and the kid will be baptized this wedensday!! super crazy but super exciting hes a really good kid :) I had the interview yesterday with him and he is already to be baptized Wednesday.  

Nacho and Maricela didnt come to church because they had to take care of one of their family members who is sick so we are hoping that they can come to church and get baptized the 1 of august it wont be this week but hopefully then :) please keep praying for them that they can know that this message is true and follow it if it is :) Alfonzo and Lucero didn't come either so we are going to visit them and see whats up :) 

Thank you guys so much for the prayers they help so much, and keep me going your guys prayers are my batteries ;) haha ooh one more thing I love our new landlord haha this morning she brought us tortillas, beans, and cheese to eat for breakfast!! ahhh it was the best haha I was so happy, :) Thank you guys so much for everything I love you all so much

Happy 4th of July

Hey guys hope you all had an amazing 4 of July!! haha I was singing "I'm proud to be American" all day haha super funny! But wow it was a super crazy week!! haha, lots of stuff went on, and it flew by!! but it looks like you guys had a lot of fun in Powell, I felt like I was in Powell too as far as the heat ;) I just lacked the water haha, but the weather sure felt the same. Well just so you all know I dont really have a whole lot of time right now so it might be a short email, but thank you all so much for your emails!!

Just to let you all know we had a Zone Conference this week and we go to change houses 4 of July!!! and it took all day haha, the house were we were living was super bad, we had to change so we spent a lot of time looking and yeah we found a house!! but took all day to change haha, but yeah we are in our new house now and its nice, haha holy smokes its super late haha I'm so sorry for the short letter, but I really gotta get out and go work!! :) But this is the best kind of work there is :) Maricela and Nacho didnt come to church this week... because Nacho had prostate cancer and has to go to the hospital every other week, but I talked with our mission President and he told me that we can still baptize him the 18 of July if he keeps attending so we are hoping to baptize them both :) please keep praying for them they are so cool I feel like they are my Mexican Grandparents haha they are super funny! Nacho is always playing with Maricela and she gets kinda mad haha but its a funny kinda mad :) please pray that they can understand this gospel and the importance of it, because they want to learn they just aren't comprehending the gospel very well, so we just have to teach slow but pray for them that through the Holy Ghost they recieve a conversion and a testimony of this church, ahhhh there is so much more that I want to write about the week there is something really cool and special that happened but I dont think I have to time to explain, please remind me next week to tell you guys about the really cool special experience, alright  :) thanks I love you guys so much :) also please pray for Alfonzo and Lucero that they can keep progresing and recieve their answer also I got a package from Dennis thanks a ton Uncle Dennis and Aunt Tracy you guys are the best!! I loved the ties haha!! also got your package that you sent with Hunter Mom thanks so much!! I love you all so much! Let me know if you guys need anything :)

What is up family!! and friends haha How are you all doing?? 

We got week one here in Navajoa, my area is called Aeropuerto because it was an airport, but was changed to a city, it was pretty cool this week sounds like you guys got a little taste of mexico this week haha, and i got the fresh side of the weather, haha, sounds like it got super hot, Navajoa is a little city, but its super chill haha, its kinda funny because its in the state of Sonora, and i was serving the last 7 months of my mission in the state of Sinaloa, and the people here say that i use a lot of words that dont exsist in sonora only sinaloa haha super funny, i think ive got a little bit of an accent from sinaloa, this week was super good!! i got to know the area a little bit better this week and the people here too!! There are a lot of amazing people here im super excited to start teaching them.  we are trying to change house here, because the house that we got right now is super bad and ugly haha, we are showering out of a pipe we dont have a shower head its just a metal pipe, that shoots out water, haha and our air conditioner almost doesnt work, also we live 25 minutes from our area, and we have to walk every morning and night really far just to get to our area to work or our house to end the day so we are going to try and change into a house in our area, i dont really have a whole lot to say, but we are going to keep working, oh and by the way please be sure to take lots of pictures this week in Lake Powell i know you guys are going to have lots of fun and dont worry about me, sure lake powell is awesome and all, but really Navajoa, Sonora, Mexico is the only place that i would like to be right now :) these really are the best two years :) and im so grateful to be a missionary and wear the name of our Lord and Brother Jesus Christ, I love you guys so much and be sure to be safe and have lots of fun :) and i sure hope that Syd will get feeling better, sounds like she took a hard hit, but sounds like a funny story with the doctor and all haha, Payton should play football haha sounds like he is getting pretty big haha, well I hope you guys have an awesome 4 OF JULY!! USA USA USA USA USA... and MEXICO MEXICO haha, i bet you guys are going to see some awesome fireworks! and yeah i think you guys got the photos of Elder Herenandez super crazy to see all the people from my mission finishing up and also all my friends i hope you guys are all doing awesome!! have an awesome time in lake powell!! and please pray for Maricela and Ignacio (nacho) they are investigators that came to church with us for the third time yesterday and we are going to try and baptize them 18 of july, they are super cool and super funny but i dont have a lot of time to talk about them :) haha next week have an awesome week and BE SAFE!!! haha I love you guys so much!! What is up everyone how is my amazing family and friends doing? :) 

But before I do anything else, I would like to give a big Happy Fathers day to the best dad in the world, the one and only Steve Tanner my Dad!! HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!! Thanks for being the best example a kid could have, thank you so much for teaching me so many life lessons in my life, in work, in play, in the church, in everything. Thank you for always letting me beat you in Ping-Pong and basketball, haha and letting me watch you play ball, and ill never forget all the good times when you would get a little cranky and get a technical thrown at ya ;) haha, thanks for always pulling me on the wake board and tube, thanks for giving work even though in the moment i probably didnt like it, im so glad that you taught me how to work and shared your talents with me so that i can be a better person, thank you for teaching me how to be a vistinng teacher, and be my very best in church, thank you for always inviting me to read scriptures, pray, and have family night, thanks for taking me shooting, thanks for teaching me how to serve others in cutting lawns, cutting trees, or delivering coookies to a family in need I cant tell you thanks enough dad, but i will do my best Thank You Dad for being my Dad and teaching me everything i know, :) Thanks Dad I love you :)

 

What a crazy week!! haha it was a really good week!!, we got to go to mochis this week for the conference with the 70 Benjamin de Hoyos he talked about the importance of teaching with the spirit and how we can help members and recent converts stay progressing in the chruch, and that the key is the temple, for the spirit of the temple and the help and guidance it gives us, haha but we got there safe and all in one peace with elder gallardo haha, but this sunday we didnt really have anybody in the church.... :/ super sad but we are working with isabel more and nadia, and isabel actually came to a branch activity yesterday after church he just couldnt make it ot the sacrement meeting, but hopefully this week he can attend, but after church we got the transfers and found out that i got transfered..... I am no in Navajoa, Sonora with Elder Hutt from Park City, super excited to start working :), so i dont have a lot to say about the new area, because i have like 8 hours here haha, but last night was super crazy i was packing up to 12:30 in the night and than we had to wake up at 3:00 in the morming to get a bus to Mochis to take another bus to Navajoa super crazy haha we got up so early, because el fuerte is a little far away haha, but im still pumping haha, El fuerte was super fun area and i learned a lot and am super excited to start working here thank you so much for praying for me while in el fuerte and im sure that the missionaries there will do awesome, thanks so much for your guys prayers your all the best and I love you guys so much :) :) :)

My little pink bike, a member in our ward is fixing bikes and he needed someone to test this one out, and my comp was too embarrssed to get on and ride it, but I was happy to do it haha 

 

I became a brick layer this week when we helped Jesus build a bathroom for his house it was super fun to get out and do manual work, when i get back ill be able to help uncle Rick.... "The Brick" ;)

What's up family how are we all doing haha, sounds like this week of summer was a super busy one thats good, haha lots of fun trips sounds like :), be sure to send me pictures of my jeep in Moab ;) haha, hows my lil goldie doing ( The Jeep ) sounds like a lot of fun going to moab, and sounds like Syd is just about to get her Drivers License thats awesome, I'm sure you'll do awesome Syd, I'm going to ask for forgiveness right now haha becuase this letter is going to be really short, but just letting you all know that I gotta go to Mochis again this week for the entire day and we might have to sleep over night because there aren't buses that go to El Fuerte at night and so we  will have to see what happens.. but we are going because there is a 70 coming to visit us, should be really good :) but also this week there are transfers, and who knows whats going to happen, Nadia and Isable didn't come to church we are going to try and work really hard with Nadia, to help her get to church :), as far as Isabel we are thinking about stopping teaching him for a little bit, becuase he's just trying to fight with us now and really not progressing but hopefully he will have a change of heart, Jesus didnt get the priesthood because he didnt come to church because he was finishing up the bathroom so hopefully he comes this week and we can get him ordained :)  thank you guys for all your continual prayers for me they help so much I love you guys so much and stay safe this week and keep readiong the scriptures :)
