Feliz Navidad

Merry Christmas to everyone!! What a amazing wonderful happy time of the year to remember our Savior and be with family and loved ones :) it was an interesting week for us haha, but it was a good one also :) Bacobampo has treated us pretty well in this Chirstmas holiday :) I hope that you all had an amazing Christmas also :)

Well to start the best part of this week was the Skype call with my family everyone is so big! haha it was so cool to see everyone happy healthy and smiling! But the craziest thing was seeing Nolan, holy smokes ha-ha I cant believe that so much time has passed, when I left he was the same size as Camden almost, but now he's walking around and talking  I was really speechless, but it made it all worth it when I got to play a little game of hide and seek with my nephew :) I truly felt something special, it's cool how the Holy Ghost not only protects us and guides us but also is the comforter and gives us hope and happiness, I truly felt that talking with my family this Christmas even though I wasn't with them and I was in another part of the world, I could still feel the love of my Family, and be with them in the Spirit of Christmas :) Our Heavenly Father loves us so much to have given us this gift that we can always have with us The Holy Ghost a member of the God Head to be with us and guide us :) It was also really cool to be talking with my family from 4 different parts of the world, Utah, Iraq, Texas, and MEXICO haha, we are kind of spread out right now but as they say Love has no Boundaries :) Payton now has the voice of a tank, and he looks huge! haha couldn't see Weston but it was so cool to hear his voice :) It truly was a very special Christmas :)

Christmas day we went to eat lunch with a sister named Sister Adelisa, she gave us a ton of food!, I have been eating so much! haha I wouldn't be suprised if I have to buy new pants ;) and we were also able to visit other members to, its kind of a weird day to work as a missionary because everyone is with their families or they are getting drunk, so lots of people reject us but the members always recieve us and are super good to us, it didn't snow but it sure was cold, its humid here so when the wind blows it feels like your wet and getting pounded by a hurricane haha kinda cool but kinda freezing too! haha

Its kind of different here because Christmas Eve is the real party here or as they say "La Pachanga" haha in USA its calm Christmas Eve but here we went to a members house to eat dinner and they had a fire blazing, we were drinking a mexican drink thats like hot choclate called "Champurrada" around the fire its super good! I'm going to work on getting the recipe :) but then we had dinner and we had beans, pasta,Tortillas and a type of roast but the meat was lamb so it was a little different but super good, but the best part was when they brought out the Piñata!!! Me and my comp were letting the kids take a wack at it but nothing was happenening so they started asking us to do it but my comp didn't want to, but I was more than happy haha, I got a little crazy, felt like I was in the World Series in the 9 inning with bases loaded I was hitting it pretty hard so hard that my glasses flew off my head haha I felt like such a dork because I dropped to the ground and started feeling around in the dirt for the glasses like in the cartoons haha but I found them and kept going at it with the Piñata turns out they hadn't filled the Piñata with candy... they had filled it with flour, haha I realized it when I gave it a good hit and a bunch of powder fell on me so I left it to a kid to break it haha he broke it and all the Flour went every where it was cool haha :) so it was a really cool Christmas Eve we weren't able to see the fireworks becuase we had to get home early but it was still super fun :) I'm wanting to bring this tradition home with the idea of the party Christmas eve.

Haha the craziest things happened this week, so we had to go out to the little towns that are like 10/12 miles away to visit the people, but we started walking and were walking for a while but passed a huge truck, and we hitchhiked with him to the little town but the thing is is that the truck was so big! that when my comp tried to hop in the back, his pants ripped right down the middle with a big hole!!! haha I didnt realize it until we were getting out of the truck and it was so bad haha the hole was huge and couldn't be sewed so... what happened is that was the last pair of pants my comp had and the others also had holes haha, so we called President and explained what happened and he was like well I'll work on getting the pants but you guys have to keep working! so my companion has been leaving the house everyday for 5 days straight in blue jeans and a white shirt and tie haha its kinda funny but gotta do what ya gotta do, because President still hasn't gotten the pants and we are super far from any store, so weve been making lemonade with the lemons life has given us ;) haha

This  Sunday was  kind of a stressed out sunday but a really spirtually filled sunday also :) haha start out I had to give a talk, teach sunday school, and teach priesthood basically what I'm saying is that in every block or every hour I gave the lesson! haha and I only had a talk prepared but I was able to give two other big lessons in each of the classes and it was super cool, haha a little different but super cool, Jose Noe didnt come :( he went to another city to visit his dad that doesn't live with his mom now :( kind of sad because we have to move his baptismal date but we are going to keep working with him, Please keep praying for him and his family :) and thank you guys so much for the prayers that you have been making in his behalf.

I hope you guys have an awesome New Year and make lots of goals!!! You guys are awesome and I love you all so much! I hope that we never lose the spirit of Christmas
I Love You Guys so much have an awesome week

Bacobampo

Heylllo Everyone!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! its so close! ha, I'm just hoping that Santa knows that I got changed to Bacobampo ;) ''

I'm super sorry for the short letter I gave you guys last time, I just didn't have a whole lot of time, but I have learned that my area is a lot different from my older area ha-ha, Bacobampo is a branch, a pretty small branch, and its a little farm town ha-ha, but its cool, I found out last week too, that I'm First Councilor in the branch presidency, because there's not a whole lot of members, that just goes to show how little it is, but it is full of amazing and strong members!!

I'm super grateful for the leadership that I learned before the mission, because I really didn't think the callings in my priesthood or scout groups would help me in the mission, but I realized it when the our branch had a branch meeting and our President doesn't like to and doesn't really know how to conduct the meeting, so I had to conduct the meeting with a bunch of adults from a different country!!! ha-ha I was super grateful for all the training I received before the mission, and I had to give them ideas on how we can be a stronger branch and it was really cool, and we are going to start focusing on strengthening the branch right now because it really needs it :) but there are amazing members in our branch :)  with very powerful testimonies, I'm super grateful to be working here with these people,

It has been pretty chilly this week actually ha-ha, I've had to put my jacket on every night because it really is kind of cold here it just doesn't SNOW!! awwww I don't know why but it doesn't :( ha-ha we were able to find some new investigators this week, because really the investigators that my comp had the last transfer aren't progressing and I had to tell him that its not worth it to waste our time with this people that aren't progressing, so we are going into this change with a lot of faith looking for new investigators :) we have a new investigator that is the son of a less active sister and she wants to return to the church and we are working with her son too!!! He has a baptismal date for the 31 of December we want to finish the year good :) and he was super excited so we are going to be working with him his name is Jose Luis :)

I also found out that in this little farm town we have to travel to other farm towns that are on the outskirts of Bacobampo, and their are like 30!!! so every Thursday we have to work in the little towns, and they are super far away, we hitchhike to get there, because if we don't we are walking for an hour just to get to the first one!! I was able to ring up 4 rides with my hitchhikers thumb it was pretty cool ha-ha, my comp told me I'm super lucky because in the other transfer he and his comp got 4 in the entire transfer and I got it in one day ha-ha, in fact this area had bikes about 6 months ago but they got robbed, some punks jumped the missionaries with a machete and they had to give up the bikes!! ahhh but I was talking with President Munive about it Sunday because he came to see us and he asked me if I knew how to ride a motorcycle and I was like YES!! ha-ha and he's like we will see what we can do if they let motorcycles in a area so spread out like that!! I about peed my pants ha-ha I doubt that we are going to have motorcycles, but it would be so cool!! ha-ha but for now we are just going to keep using the hitchhikers thumb !!

This Sunday we got to go to Huatabampo to see the dedication of the Tijuana temple!! its 40 minutes from our area so we hitchhiked again and we were flying in the back of a pickup truck down a highway in to know where and it was freezing because it was early in the morning ha-ha I thought I was going to die but we made it and it was super cool! Elder Dieter F Uctdorf talked about the hope and patience that these members had to for this temple because they haven't been able to go to San Diego temple that's the closest to them because  a lot of the Mexicans didn't have their visas so it made it hard for a lot of members to enter the temple and be sealed to their families and that's why this temple is such a blessing for them because its right where it needs to be, I truly felt a spirit super powerful for the love that these members had and the patience also, they are so grateful to have this temple!! I hope we have the same excitement and attitude that they have to enter the temple we are so blessed to have a temple so close 15 minutes away when the people here have to travel 2 or 3 days just to get to a temple we are so blessed :)

Well everyone that's all I got for you this week I know its another really short letter, ha-ha but Bacobampo is super cool and I'm sure that every week I will have a new story for you guys ha-ha, I love you guys so much and hope you all have an excellent week and enjoy the snow!!

Transfers Today...

What’s up everyone I really don’t have a whole lot of time to write, but I did get transferred! ha-ha I’m now in Bacobampo With Elder Guardado he is from El Salvador and a really good kid, after 6 months in Aeropuerto they changed me to this area, but we are super excited to start working and find the people that are ready for this gospel :) I have a lot to say but so little time.... I will be sure to explain more about the change next week :) but I hope that everyone was able to see the Christmas Devotional yesterday, I really liked the talk by David A Bednar about how Christ is the light of the world, please everyone remember the true meaning of Christmas and always find a way to help someone else. This is a beautiful time of the year when the hearts of the people are open and it’s a perfect time to give service and share your testimony :) I love you guys so much and I know that this church is true!!, Let us all always try to be better people and be more loving and patient. I’m so thankful for your prayers and I’m sure that you will be blessed, I love you guys.

Last Week Before Transfers

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone had a very filling thanksgiving and played lots of football, ate lots, slept a lot, ate a lot, played a lot of football and ate a lot and slept good ;) ha-ha, its super funny to explain to the people here why we celebrate thanksgiving and what we do this day, I just tell them what I just said, we play sports mainly football, we eat all day and we sleep, it’s one of the best days in the year because your with your family! I loved the pictures of you guys, bunch of turkeys, pilgrim and Indians :) we didn’t do a whole lot here in Mexico we just talked about it, but it was chill :)

This week has been kind of crazy and a little bit hair pulling kind of week ha-ha but it’s part of the mission, it’s such a funny thing, because the stress in the normal world is super painful and sad, but the stress in the mission is a lot of times a boost that we need to be better or it just makes us laugh, because literally whatever could happen in the mission happens a lot of times and the only way to get through it is with a smile and a little chuckle because that the only thing that you can do, The mission really is something special and it is the best two years, I feel that my faith and love for my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ has strengthened so much and I have gained a love and appreciation for my family too :)

But to explain why this week was so interesting, we had a problem this week with finding our investigators ha-ha literally, we would make appointments with them and we would get to their house and nobody answers and don’t get me wrong it’s like that a lot of times in the week, but literally it was almost everyday all day this week. I was speechless I really didn’t understand! So it was kind of hard to find the people to teach but we still got through and had two people in the church this week, but before I talk about that. I think it would be important to say that for the second time in my mission I almost caught my hair on fire for the stinking water heaters here in Mexico!! This week we lost our hot water that just a week earlier we received... I was ticked!! ha-ha so these little stinkers are super dangerous it’s a little bowl of electricity that heats up the water before it leaves the shower head and well here in Navajoa lots of time there’s a water shortage, and that’s what happened this day I was showering and  very little water was coming out and so it would come out super-hot!! because it had more time to be in the "electric bowl" ha-ha but eventually this little bowl got super-hot and I started hearing a whistle like the whistle a pot of boiling water makes and the whistle was coming from the holes in the shower head and the "electric bowl" on the shower head was super red! And I started hearing cracks and realized that the little bowl was about to blow up so I turned off the water so it would stop heating up and as I did the electric bowl starting throwing out a ton of steam and smoke and it’s been like that for a week and we have been showering with a bucket!! we warm up water with our electric grill and we fill up a  5 gallon bucket and we use a cup to throw water on us  and that’s how we shower in the morning, because water doesn’t come out of the shower head now, ahhhh it has been really interesting we have to wake up early to heat up the water but its kind of funny ha-ha we  should have hot water in this week hopefully it happens :) ha but we are doing good because this week found a guy that is super cool :) his name is Balvanero  and he was a pastor for and Christian church, but left because he didn’t like the idea of paying tithing as an income to the leaders so we taught him and he said he would come to church but the crazy thing that happened was the prayers he said to finished we asked him to say the closing prayer, and he started good , but slowly his voice started getting louder and louder and then he started rapping! the guy rapped his prayer I was amazed and had to keep myself from dancing because it was really cool the rap because it was a prayer!! ha-ha he went to church and really liked and we are going to keep teaching him and we will be sure to teach him how to pray this week ha-ha :) I had to do a baptismal interview this week for the sisters they are going to baptized this Saturday, but I really strengthen my testimony of the Holy ghost, in this interviews we have to be in tune a lot with the spirt so we know what to do, and it truly lead me to know what to do and say because the brother has had a lot of problems but the spirt really did guide me to know what to do he wasn’t able to be baptized last week I had to postpone the baptism from last week to this week, but I know it was the right thing to do, because I truly could feel the spirt and helped me to find out what the problem was with the brother I have also felt the spirt really strongly this week with the new video the church has made " A Savior is Born" invite everyone to see it truly is so special and I felt the spirit so strong! how beautiful is it to know that Christ came for us that he truly is our Savior and our best friend and is always here to help us and has given us a guide the Holy Ghost, Let us all look for the Holy Ghosh this week he truly does give us so much strength and help like it says in the scripture John 14:26-27 what a blessing it is to have a member of the trinity with us always if we look for him :) I’m so grateful for the guidance he has given to me in the mission and the help and comfort I have felt and I know that it is the same for all of us he is a guide in life and will help us but we have to look for him and I now that if you guys watch this video you will find him and he will touch your hearts :) I love you guys so much Thanks for everything https://www.mormon.org/christmas

The Weekly Tanner

Hello everyone :) How's it going ha-ha I'm so sorry for the letter last week I know that it was super bad, haha but this is going to be a good one, A lot of stuff has happened in these two weeks, I really don't know where to start, but I think I'm going to start with last week and work my way up to today,

Last week in church we had to give talks all the missionaries in the ward I chose to talk about tithing, it is really kind of a struggle here, the bishopric told me to be direct with them.... And I was very direct haha, I learned a lot too as I was studying about tithing it truly is a commandment of God to try us of our faith, but it is the commandment that has a direct promise and that is to have food in our house, sounds like a good promise to me ;) haha but other than that I talked about how it is a test to see if we can support the trial of faith and give what we earn, but we have the promise that if we do we will be given the eternal life and be able to live in the presense of God. I told them that if we can not live this earthly law how will we be able to support the celestial laws, we truly have to prepare ourselves for the kindom of heaven through obedience to all the laws and commandments and paying tithing is one of the ways that we can do that :) I'm so grateful for the example of my parents who have always taught me to pay tithing first and then a toy from the toy store or a cheeseburger from Glades ;) we have truly seen the blessing through our desrie to obey this commandment :) and my ancestors also through the example of John Tanner.

We had The family Garcia Rios show up last sunday, they came even though the husband had DENGUE!! he really wanted to come they got there late but they came! even though they were sick it was so cool, and they loved it! It is truly such an amazing familiy!! we are so blessed to have found them the Family Garcia Rios has 5 people in it Hector, Claudia, and 3 Daughters, I'm going to talk about them a little bit later...

But last sunday something super crazy happened, we got a call from the sisters, and they told us that their converts in the ward had just lost their son and they needed help and the mom needed a blessing it was super sad we went speed walking to the house of the family and found the sisters there. They told us that the son who was just 23 years old was attacked and killed the night earlier. They took him off  his motorcycle and cut his neck , we had no idea what to say we were astonished that it had happened they told us that the family was super sad, they had the casket in the house because they do funeral services a little different here, they don't have services in a funeral home. They take the casket to their house and they have the viewing their, so we got into the house and it was packed with people crying, yelling and all sorts of stuff praying, singing, but we found the mom in her room, trying to cry herself to sleep, we asked her if she would like a blessing and she said yes. We gave her a blessing and her 3 other kids and her husband too, it truly was such a sad scene this young man had a wife and a 2 year old son, it was super sad to see them she was having a really hard time, but as we were waiting to give a blessing to the family members I was just waiting and thinking and I saw lots of people yelling crying, making prayers from the catholic church, and alot of people were drinking, It made me feel super grateful, I had never seen a funeral like that, but thats how they are for people who aren't members of the church, death is the end, and all they can do is drink cry and pray to take the pain away, my testimony was strengthed a lot in that moment, I know that the plan of salvatoin is real and true and that there is life after this life, I'm so grateful for the Book of Mormon that gives us the fulness of the gospel and the knowledge of the resurection and life after this life, I know that we are eternals that death is nothing but a small part in the plan of God, it is not the end, the end is to have eteranl life and to be with God, and I know that this is possible thanks to what our older brother and savior did for us, how grateful I am for the plan of Happiness, the Plan of Redemption, I know that death is not the last part in the plan of God and I know that families can be eternal and I know that they will, We were able to promise blessings and give peace to the family through the blessings that we gave and they were truly comoforted, I also know that we have angles working with us and protecting us, because I talked with the sisters and asked where he was attacked and they told us in a neighborhood called Tepeyac, that is one of the our areas its an area super dark, and lots of people have told us to be super careful in this area and not to be there at night because there isn't any light you are just walking on dirt roads in pure darkness, and we were actually in this area just 3 hours before he was attacked, nothing has ever happened to us and I know that we are super protected, its because of all the prayers you guys have made thank you for all your prayers, please be praying for this family as they are passing through this hard time its the family Eduarte.

Well aside from that it was a good week, we were able to keep teaching the Family Garcia Rios it truly is a golden family they always have awesome questions for us and they learn so fast. They went to church this week again, and with their 3 daughters. Their daughters went to primary and loved it!! it was so cool, I know it sounds super femine but I dont care haha it truly is a beautiful family and its so cool to see them creating stronger bands in their family and we are super exctied to see their progression and when the time comes their baptism! and then their sealing in the temple, but one step at a time. The only problem with them is that the dad works our of town}, well out of state haha, he works out of state for 20 days and is only with his family here for 10 days and so he can't go to church as much, nor can we teach him as much :( so we can't really put a baptism date with him because we dont know when he will be in town, its hard because the transfers are coming up and we dont know what will happen but what ever happens I'm super happy that they are growing in the gospel and that this family will gain lots of blessings through our work, if I'm not able to be in the baptism I will definatly be in the sealing!! ;), I'll be sure to send pictures next week of the family they are soooo cool!! :) We were also able to reactivate a sister in the ward!! Reactivating someone is the same as baptising someone you just dont have water haha but she is super cool and yesterday was her 5th Sunday back and she is now reactivated!! whooo haha :) I was able to study in the Book of Ether this week and it truly is such a cool story about the civilization, and how much faith they had at the start to get in the barges and cross the seas, only being lead by the hand of the Lord, lots of times we think that the Lord will solve our problems }, but we have to a lot of times climb the mountain with our rocks and simply the Lord will touch our rocks (lives) and give us light and hope, I know the church is true and that faith is the first principle of the gospel because it is what we need to have a testimony and not only believe but act according to our faith :) I love you guys so much and I'm super sorry for my english, haha but I hope that more than anything I
can help you guys feel the spirt and your testimonies grow, I Love you guys Keep praying and Keep studying we are all missionaries and we are all in the field :)

There is still Sunshine

Like the subject says there is still lots of sunshine, but I'm super jealous of you guys for the snow that your getting its like 65 degrees here at night and everyone is walking around in snow coats and rain boots freezing cold, and I'm walking around in a short sleeve shirt haha its kinda funny, it was a pretty good week :)

Se had quite a bit of success, and we are super excited for the persons that we have met and taught this week :) we had a conference with President Munive this week with all the District and Zone Leaders, it was a really cool conference, they talked about how the leaders have to be examples and how if we don't progress the mission doesn't progress, gave me a lot of strength to keep on working and want to be better.

We were able to find another family this week :) family Garcia, the husbands name is Hector, and he is such a good guy but the only problem is that he works out of town for 20 days and is in town for only 10 days, its kinda hard but he has a big desire to learn more he's such a good guy, flip I'm super sorry everyone for this email I know that it is super tiny but I didnt have a whole lot of time this week I'm super sorry but next week you guys are going to get a newspaper from the Weekly Tanner I love you guys so much and please pray for the Family Morales and Family Garcia I love you guys so much :) thanks for your prayers and help, this is the work of the Lord and the people are ready for this message I love you guys have an awesome week I love you so much

Welcome to the family Camden

Wow so much is going on back home, I dont know how you guys are keeping up with all the stuff going on, haha but wow that is so cool that I've got another nephew!! whoooo, thats so cool and I love seeing the pictures, sounds like its getting a lot more chilly there, haha its getting cooler here also, its still hot in the day but the night and morning is cool.

We had a good week this week, we were able to get a lot of stuff done, and we had a zone conference with President, we talked a lot about the importance of study and how we always have to be ready to answer the questions that we will make or that the people will ask us, I have grown a really strong testimony about the importance of studing the scriptures I can't lie and I feel super bad , becuase before the mission I was always such a little hard head, but I have realized how much power and knowledge there is in the scriputures, sometimes we just read them because our parents make us or its a commandment , but when we read the scriptures with an attitude like that, we will not get anything because we are not seeking anything. Start your study with a prayer and ask questions that our Heavenly Father can answer through his holy scriptures, look for answers and read with humility, knowing that there is always something new that we can learn, the scritpures are truly so powerful and contain the knowledge of things that have passed are passing and will pass. The attention that we put into the study will help us understand the mysteries of God and through his Holy Spirit we will know the truth of all things :)

We had two people in the church this week :) a Brother that's named Ephraim,  he's got a friend in the church and his friend gave his direction and we started teaching him with his friend, hes a great guy and him and his friend went to church together this week it was super cool :) and he has a true desire to follow Christ and start fresh, he has had a little problem with drinking but we are helping him get rid of it and his friend too, and he has told us that he wants to quit so that he can be batized so he can be with his parents forever :) he's a really good guy.  Michel and the family Morales didn't go to church this week they haven't been progressing really well. I think we might have to have a serious talk with them and see what their goals are and if they are not having goals to be baptized or make the changes necessary in their lives we might have to stop teaching them for a little bit, but we will be praying for them and were going to see what happens this week :) Ephraim has a baptismal date for the 28 of November, please pray for him that he can over come this addiction and be ready to be baptized this day :) Thanks you guys so much for all you do, I truly do apreciate it and I know that when we serve others, we are serving God and with this faith and love that we have for our Brothers and Sisters God will bless us and help us in our trials. I love you guys so much and thanks for all you do

Dia de los Muertos

Hello everyone, I'm hoping that you all had a very happy Halloween ate lots of candy, carved lots of pumpkins, and got to go through lots of corn mazes!! haha because that's not what they do here!! haha its a little different Halloween here is called Dia de los muertos! it meas Day of the Dead! Pretty crazy right its kind of like Memorial Day, but still super different, all the kids run around in costumes, but there not costumes of power rangers or ghosts they were masks of like a skelton face with makeup haha its pretty crazy and freaked me out a little but, it was super cool the people here have a lot of respect for their dead, everyone... EVERYONE goes to the cemetery! and they decorate it super cool, and they all hang out in the cemetery sunday night and practiclay all day monday it is super cool, but it's a tradition pretty crazy, and it's kinda different their mentallity on the dead, I can't really explain it right now but it's a lot differnet then ours being members of this church.

This week was pretty good, the Family Morales couldn't go to church, because they had to go to the cemetery, and also there Grandma got sick and had to take care of her :), but they are super excited to go to church this week :) We went to Michels house in the morning Sunday to wake her up and invite her but she stayed up late because of the dia de los muertos and didn't go to church, its a tradition here kind of a annoying haha, because even the ward members didn't go to church haha, there were very few members, it makes me super sad, but I just hope that we can make sure that we are converted that is something that I have been trying to learn about, being converted and having a testimony they are topics really interesting and I invite all to learn more about what is the conversion and how we can achieve it :) Michel is getting a lot better she is setting lots of goals to be better and be more humble :), but we are going to keep working with her, I'm super sorry for the short letter we have a lesson right about now that we have to go and teach, but I'm super happy to hear that you guys are doing good and that I have another NEPHEW!!!! ahhhhh whoooo, Felicidades!!! Mis hermanos Jordan and Krystle :) I love you guys so much and please pray for the Family Morales this week so that they can keep learning and progressing and have the desire to be members converted in the church :)

I love you guys so much

Que Bendiciones

whoo Elder Vaca made me a sandwhich for my birthday best son ever ha-ha

The sisters in our ward and NACHO AND MARICELA!! whoo haha given us a thumbs up :)

Hey Everyone thank you guys so much for your birthday wishes :) thank you guys so much, I'm so grateful to have the family that I do and the friends that I have known, thank you guys so much for your prayers and love :) It has been an amazing week :) we weren't able to baptize Michel, but it was super amazing and I'll explain why in  just a little bit :)

So for those of you don't know, yes we had transfers this week and.... I lost my son :/ Elder Vaca was called to another area, but I was able to be his trainer and he finished his training, it was kind of crazy because, everyone thought that I was going to leave this area, because I have quite a bit of time here 4 and a half months doesn't sound a lot but the President in this mission likes to change areas fast and a lot. Normally we only last 3 or 4 months in a area, so everyone thought I was going, but we got the changes and found out that Elder Vaca was called to another area and that I would stay here still as District Leader and my new companion would be Elder Hernandez ha-ha its my second Elder Hernandez, I worked with another in Guasave when we opened the area there, but its a different Elder Hernandez he's from Oaxaca, and he is part of my generation or in other words we started the mission at the same time ha-ha :) me and Elder Vaca were both pretty sad about the change but, The Lord still has work for me here in Aeropuerto and has work for elder Vaca in his new area :)

So as I said earlier Michel wasn't baptized this Saturday but its for the greater good, she's still not ready, we had the baptism interview and she passed but she hasn't been respecting her parents lately and she yells at them and treats them super bad, and her parents wouldn't sign the paper so that she could be baptized for the way she has been acting, and we were all for her parents because she just starts yelling at her parents and its super bad, but we are going to keep working with her and see if we can get a new baptismal date!!!

But the coolest thing ever is that this week we found a family!!! and not just any family a family that is super cool!!! They are 5 members in the family the parents and 3 kids and kids are 13 12 and 7 years old, we taught them and the Dad has a super big desire to change and be a better person and a better example for his kids. We taught them and they accepted a baptismal date for 21 of November!! They all came to church WALKING! doesn't sound hard walking to church when you live in Utah, but here in Mexico its really different the church is super far from where they live, its like walking from our house to the high school, with 3 kids, but they all came and they want to come to mutual and the little daughter is  going to be in the primary program!!! we are super pumped!!! WHOOOOOOO ha-ha Families are forever please pray for them that they can keep progressing and keep coming to church as a family :) Thank you guys so much for everything and I love you guys so much :) and keep being awesome :)

P.S. happy birthday shout out to Bear-Horse Love you cuz keep up be strong

Patience

Hey Family :)

How's it been this week, that's crazy that Payt went to Texas all by himself haha holy smokes kid has got some guts :) well Mom I hope you had an amazing birthday, and I'm so pumped to hear about my new nephew or niece!! haha. I have got one amazing family, and I'm so grateful for the example of all you guys, haha but really I have been so blessed with the people that God has put in my life and the examples and help they have been for me thank you so much everyone for your love and patience with me haha :)

This week was pretty good, I was able to give a training Tuesday in our district meeting, and it went really good actually one of the best I have given and we were able to make goals as a district, but the coolest part is that they were big goals but we achieved them this week!! It was super cool to see the excitement and cheer in the district :) I have learned so much in the mission and I am so grateful for this calling that the Lord has given to me, I am so blessed :)
We were able to teach quite a few new people this week and we are super excited to see how they progress, we were able to keep teaching Michel this week and she learns so fast!! haha its crazy a lot of the times she's one step ahead of us haha its pretty crazy she is reading in the book of Mormon and its awesome, and she truly has a desire to follow Jesus Christ she has had a lot of problems that she told us, but is looking for the happiness in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and she knows its here because she has felt it through the holy ghost our heavenly fathers messenger :) a messenger of the truth and one who testifies that God and Jesus live and they love us and that Jesus is the Christ that the atonement that he did for us is infinite and without end and we can be clean if we come unto him with broken hearts and a contrite spirit we will feel the love of our Savior and Father who want the best for us :)

Her parents even invited us to eat steak tacos with them and we went and it was pretty good :) we weren't able to talk about Michel's baptism with them but, we are going to talk with them this week :), she didn't go to church this week.... :( we are super sad we don't know why but we are thinking its because her aunt had a baby shower Sunday, but we are going to try and go and visit her right now to see what's up, but we are going to try and stick with the baptismal date for this Saturday and get the approval of her parents, please pray for her that she can act good and respect her parents this week and can be baptized Saturday, also please pray that her parents will support her and give her permission to be baptized this Saturday :) we need your prayers :) thank you guys so much.

I wanted to take a little bit of time to tell you guys about a video I just watched from the church I'll give you guys the URL in this email and I hope that you guys can see it and think about how we can put into practice the patience in our life and be more forgiving people, Its interesting how the father is always calling the son in the video and never gives up on him, I think its a symbol of our Heavenly Father he always calls us but lots of times we don't listen to his councils, my invitation is that we can all listen to the voice and counsels of our Heavenly Father. He talks to all of us in different ways but is always talking with us, I know he loves us, and I hope that in every situation of our lives we can be loving, forgiving and patient like our Father in Heaven is, think of all the times that we have upset him yet he still forgives us and reaches out to help us, how beautiful would it be if we can learn and live this principle of patience, patience is a key attribute in this life that is why it is one of the attributes of Christ it is an attribute of the Celestial kingdom and if we learn to use it in this life we are preparing ourselves for the next life, and we are acting more like our Heavenly Father, always try to see people through the eyes of our Heavenly Father and who these people are, they are our brothers and sisters and sons and daughters of our eternal father, I know that Our Father loves us, and wants us to love each other I love you guys so much and I'm sorry if I have ever offended anyone, I love you all so much, and I know that our Father in Heaven and our brother Jesus Christ love us :)

nah I'll tell ya ok so in the house we have a fridge and a little electric stove top, I used to take time to cook, but no I'm just eating cereal and sandwhichs, lots of time for dinner we get home super tired we plan for the next day and just want to sleep so lots of times we don't eat dinner or we just eat some cookies haha, or there is a Sister in the ward that sells hot dogs and her Sister sells tacos of steak so we go and eat with them sometimes because its free ;)

Trying to fix the Air Conditioner haha I should have learned more at Triple T  haha

My son had his Birthday and got a big package!!

Eating Jalapeños, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Hello family how are we doing?Sounds like a ton is going on right now, I’m kind of struggling to type on the computer right now, because I’m eating Doritos with one hand and typing with the other haha. my love for Doritos still hasn’t changed but the Doritos yes because the Doritos here are spicy they don’t have the original nacho cheese flavor its nacho cheese with Chile’s haha super good but a lil spicy, wow I haven’t really talked about the food here in a while, but I’ll just say it how it is the food here is super good, I’ve got a good little tummy growing haha, I’ve also gotten use to eating spicy food I’m not completely converted but I’m getting there haha, cant say that I don’t miss moms cooking because I do. I find myself drooling thinking about her casseroles or candy chicken or peach cobbler haha, but no the food here really is good :),

That’s super cool that for mutual Payton got to go shooting haha, hopefully he will get to be as good as I am ;), This week was pretty good we had a lot going on haha, but it was a good week, at the start of the week, Tuesday our air conditioner broke in the morning :( and so it got a little hot in the house haha but I tried fixing it... turns out I should have spent more time in Triple T....haha, but we got it all fixed, also this day we got attacked by our landlords dog!! Flipping dog is crazy!! He is always super chill when we  pass by him but this one time we passed and he flipped out on us and I screamed like a girl running towards a tree trying to climb it haha, and my comp freaked out ran for a rocking chair on the patio of our land lord and was about to crush the dog haha but we ended up retreating to the house, but when we left we left with umbrellas as protection haha super funny, but scary too, also this week we had our zone conference!! whoo so we got to get together as a zone and have some good trainings, we talked a lot about the family history work, and it was super cool, I got to share my story about john tanner and Zera Pulsipher and everyone thought it was pretty cool, but I wish I would have done more family history work!! haha its super cool and we truly can find out who we are when we look for who are family was, I would like to invite all of you to do a little bit a family history work, it truly is such a blessing to be in the church with the power of priesthood to do this work and save our ancestors, in a talk I heard from Jeffrey R Holland he said that when we do family history work we are acting as saviors for our ancestors who have died without a knowledge of this gospel because literally we are saving them and their soul, I know that the family members who died with a knowledge and testimony of this gospel are working super hard  right now to convert those who weren’t converted in this life but they need our help!! so let’s get er done and get working!!! I promise that if we do it we will see the blessings in this life, but even more in the next!! :) We got to have an awesome lesson with Michel this week! we taught her about the plan of salvation, it truly is one of my favorite lessons it helps understand who we are where we come from and what our goals should be in this life, I’m so grateful for my parents that taught me this since I was a kid, I still remember the long nights as a little kid always worrying about death and what happens after and I remember the talks with my mom and dad and the comfort they gave me and the lessons they taught me about the plan of salvation and how this is not the final life, many people think we come to this world to die, but the plan of god is bigger than that we come to this earth to live, obviously we have to die, but that is such a small part in the plan of God or but the family picture is to live forever and that is possible thanks to what Christ did for us! That’s why the message is called plan of salvation or plan of happiness! we taught Michel about Adam and eve and its always a little hard to teach this message because there are so many people that have different ideas about this principle and they are always kind of different but we followed the spirit and we taught it super good and she understood and then we talked about her baptism and she gladly accepted and said she is super excited for her baptism and her parents invited us over for cake and tacos for the birthday of my companion :) we are super stoked and she came to church yesterday and it was super awesome!! :) Please keep praying for her that she will keep being excited and preparing herself for her baptism and that her parents will approve it :) I know that prayers are heard and answered!! This work is true and I’m so grateful to be a missionary I see the hand of the lord in our lives so much and I’m definitely not perfect but no one is, we just have to be continually trying to be better and the perfection will come later I love you guys so much and hope you are all doing well, I invite you guys to read  3 Nephi 14:24-27  and think about how you guys can listen to the messages of conference and live them and not just listen to them but live them so that we have a house or (life) built upon the rock of Christ :)

I love you guys have an awesome week :)

GENERAL CONFERENCE was so good that's awesome that we got some new Apostles, and they have some amazing powerful testimonies, it's going to be cool to see their progression and all the great messages that they can give us :) Okay I dont have a lot of time but Michel got sick this week, she has Dengue and so she couldnt go to Conference but she watched it in her house with her mom!! So that's awesome, we found out that her Dad is super chill and is happy that she is listening to us. She has a Baptismal date for 24 of October, we will see what her parents say about that, also we are super good and happy, its still hot but not as much. Thank you guys so much for you prayers and I Love you guys, I'm sorry haha my Moms going to kill me for this short letter I hope you guys are doing good.

Farewell Party for Weston

How are we doing :)

Sounds like all is well, and thats awesome I love to hear that :) that's cool that you guys could get together to have a party for Weston, and that food sounds delicious, haha really it sounds so good!! haha like I'm getting the key board wet I'm drooling so bad ;) haha, but be sure to have fun and enjoy the party :) wow wow wow another week haha pretty crazy right, its pretty crazy how fast time passes, it goes to show that we have to use our time really well and to enjoy every moment, EVERY MOMENT even the moments when we are stressed or have a challenge remember that we are here to have joy! We are here to show our Heavenly Father that we love him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, we are here to have happiness, take every second every minute and enjoy it, and remember all that our Heavenly Father has done for us all that he has created for us.

This week was pretty good we got to know a lot of different people but nobody went to church :( we have a new investigator named Michelle, she's in high school and she is super interested in the Book of Mormon, so we gave her one and wrote her direction down and we went to her house the other day and we found it and we didn't think it was her house because the house was huge!! Like I'm talking huge!! It's big for houses in Utah, and gigantic for houses here!!, We seriously thought that her dad was a Drug Lord, because he had a 20 foot wall protecting his house and barb wire around the house and anyone that has a house like that here is a Drug Lord, but we coughed up the courage to knock on the 20 foot wall because their wasn't a front door, ya gotta get passed the wall first ;) haha her mom answered and said that Michelle still hadn't returened from school so we asked if we could teach her and she said yes, and we got to know her a little bit better, and we found out that they are catholics... super catholics, like her husband isn't a Pastor, but is a leader in the catholic church we could say he is like a Stake President or Bishop... haha and that's why he has a big house... haha because they get paid lots!! Anyways we taught her mom and then Michelle showed up and we talked and taught, and Michelle said she would go to church :) and her Mom aproved it but she didn't show up because her parents grounded her... we hope its not for the church, but we are going to check it out this week :) Please pray for her and her parents that they can let her go to church and that she can make good decisions to show her parents that what she is doing is good :)

Thanks so much for the prayers and love you guys give me and just a little comment I want to say, Thanks to my brother Weston for all he has done to help me in my life I truly do love him and know that what he is doing is amazing I Love you Weston be safe and know that We love you so much :)

I love you guys so much

Mexican Independence Day

15 of septiembre was awesome haha, we had a ward party and they had a bunch of Mexican music and its kinda funny because at the start of my mission I hated all the music here but a year later I had to contain my self from dancing haha it really is kinda catchy, but it was a lot of fun :) this week, was pretty good I dont have a lot of time to talk but, it rained a ton this week and with the rain here the people get really nervous because of the lightning because it is super crazy here and to add to it there was a cyclone that passed by and so it was a super crazy storm, and we almost didn't have a ward sunday, very few people came out :/ it was super sad, but we had a investigator came that the sisters were teaching but turns out she lives in our area she's really cool, and we are going to teach her this week and see if we can get a baptismal date :), we visited Lorena Saturday night and her husband was really kind of a jerk to us, it was super messed up we wanted to talk to him but he wouldn't even look us in the eyes and just kept watching the TV and turning it up so he couldn't hear us, we couldn't really get mad at him. and she felt super bad and said that she can't listen to us because she doesn't want problems with her marriage so we told them that we respect them and we want them to have a happy marriage but when they are ready to listen to us they can feel free to call us it was super hard to do but I could see how torn Lorena was, but we will find more :) something to cheer you guys up haha it was raining super hard one night and the streets got flooded up to our shins so we were returning home really late and it was dark because there wasn't street lights and we were walking in water up to our shins, and suddenly I feel super deep up to my thighs in water, turns out I had fell into a man hole haha it was super crazy scared me so bad haha I thought I was being sucked down by the devil ;) haha but it was pretty funny too, okay guys dont ever forget how much I love you guys

911

Happy 9/11 everyone I hope you all had a good day and could take a little bit of time and remember what happened this day, and have a little prayer in your hearts for all the families that witnessed this tragedy, but also remember that we live in the greatest country :) I showed my pride this day too and wore my tie with the American flag on it, was super cool :) well everyone I have got some pretty good news, we got our changes yesterday in the morning and found out that I'm going to stay here with Elder Vaca! whooo and I'm going to finish his training I'm super pumped and excited :) we had a pretty good end of the week, I don't know if you guys knew but, the temple in the Ciudad de Mexico was rededicated yesterday so we didn't have church everyone went to Obregon to see it broadcast and it was so special, but we had to wake up a little earlier and take a hour long bus ride to Obregon but it was so worth it :) it really was a beautiful session :), Henry B Eyring and Jefferey R Holland were there presiding and Jefferey R Holland gave a super powerful talk about the Priesthood of Elijah and the significance of his appearance to Joseph Smith in the Kirtland temple, it was super cool we truly are blessed to live in this time with the fullness of the gospel :) Do family history work, our Heavenly Father held us back for a reason, because we made a promise with our families before this life that we would save them so we kinda got to do it they are waiting. Take advantage of all the temples that are so close to us it truly is a blessing :)

We kinda had a problem this week with one of our investigators :/ and we are really kinda sad, its Lorena, we had an awesome lesson with her and a member and she accepted to be baptized Oct. 3 and all and she loved the church when she went, but she called us the other day saying that we can't visit her now because her husband doesn't want us to teach her :( We didn't know what to say. We had talked with the husband before making sure its alright with him if we teach her but, I don't know what changed now he doesn't want us to teach her, we are going to visit them this week and see what's up, but if you guys could please keep her and her husband Salvador in your prayers. Pray that he will have a change of heart and let his wife go to church and listen to this message, pray with faith and we are going to do everything that we can. Thanks for everything guys, I love you guys so much and thanks for all that you guys do :)

This week is 16 de Septiembre we are super pumped because its Independence day for Mexico and we are going to have a Fiesta with our ward haha, its like 4 of July, but please keep praying that we can find the people who are ready for this message :) I love you guys

Time Flies

I cant believe that this is the week before transfers, I feel like I was just barely in Obregon picking up my son Elder Vaca, the time here has gone by flying I'm pretty sure it went faster than a F22 Raptor, but who's counting haha thats awesome that its labor day for you guys, I hope you guys are enjoying it :) that is awesome that we are going to put a flag pole in the yard, please just be sure to put the Mexico flag up there with old glory :) haha, but that will be something really special to do 9/11, I really can't believe how much is going on back home, that's so cool to see how much you guys are doing :) I hope you guys are doing awesome spirtitually and physically, and be sure to spend time together, lots of times we forget how special it is to have a family, but we have been put in a family for a reason our Father in Heaven knew that the family and the home can be a little part of heaven and a place of protection and security, we should remember that the family is a source of help and answers, in any moment that we have problems or questions the first place we should go or refer to is the family, I'm super grateful for my family and the help they have been to me in my life and I'm so grateful for the examples of my Mom and Dad and Brothers and Sisters, Dont ever forget that the families are of God.

This was a really good week :) we did some divisions with Elders in the district, I went with an Elder in his area and Elder Vaca stayed in our area and the the other Elder went to work with him, I went with a Elder Ream his from Las Vegas, and a good kid, we were able to teach and contact some people and it was cool to work with a different ward and get to know other members in the other wards in Navojoa, we had our zone conference this week, and I got my package!! Thank you so much mom :) those ties are flipping beautiful haha, I got lots of good comments, thank you so much and thanks so much for the nutter butters I'm going to give one to everyone in the District so that they know whats good haha, also I got a really nice letter from Treyson Orton I think is his name in the package that I thought was really cool be sure to tell my little buddy thanks for his drawing and his letter it was super nice to get it :) and that he will a great missionary when he is older :) Thank you so much for the package family and thanks for the lettter Mom :)
We got to help a lady clean her garden this week and take out weeds (I'm in a different country and still doing yard work pretty crazy right) ;) haha we did it super early saturday and  we were still sweating a ton haha but it was cool to help her and it was the first time that I got to cut grass with a machete haha I got the hang of it pretty good , I think thats how Grandpa Walker should cut his grass, cuts it really fine and nice ;) but as for Sunday it was a little crazy we were expecting a lot of people in the church but not everyone was able to go, we had an awesome lesson with Carmina and her 3 kids Friday and we taught the Restoration, Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, and we know that she felt the spirit and she said that she would give us a ride to church, but when we went Sunday to get a ride she didn't answer and we had to walk really far to get to the church, but it was awesome because one of our investigators Lorena is her name went and she loved it, we finished the last hour and she was hoping that there were more classes, she was like that was 3 hours?? it went by so fast!! haha she is super excited to go again and she invited us to eat tamales with her one day, we are going to put a baptism date with her for October of maybe end of September, pray for her that she will acept it she is really great :) well I gotta go you guys I love you so much, can't believe that transfers are this week, I hope I get to stay in Navojoa, it has gone by so fast and I have really loved it here :)

I love you guys so much and stay awesome

Wow Wow Wow

I’m telling you family and friends I think I’ve got the best mission in the world ;) it was an amazing week this week, at the start I wasn’t feeling too good, because I think I got really dehydrated, but I thought it was Dengue. After writing you guys last Monday I went to the hang out at the zone leaders house because it’s a whole lot closer than our house, and there I got a blessing and was able to rest for a little bit, we called a ward member to come and give us a ride and they did and then in the morning I was super tired and super dizzy, and so we called Sister Munive and she told us to go to the doctor to see if I had Dengue so we went,  they took blood (I hate when they take blood I’m still kind of a baby and can’t watch haha) but took blood and they said I didn’t have dengue, but I was probably dehydrated so I starting taking a bunch of water and PowerAde and I was up and running the next day, but I don’t think it was the PowerAde that healed me I’m pretty sure it was that priesthood blessing that they gave me, that helped me, I hope you all know how special it is to have the power of God here in the world he has so much confidence in us to give us part of his power for the blessing of his children Don’t Ever forget IT!! And always use it because it is stronger than any medicine :)

This week was super cool, because we got to see a lot of miracles as a district; I had to do 2 baptismal interviews this week, one for an investigator of the zone leaders and another for the sisters of the district. The zone leaders were supposed to have a Baptism with us this Saturday but their investigator didn’t show up they were super sad but super excited to see the baptism of Nacho and Maricela, as for the sisters in the district, they baptized a young women named Kenya she is super cool, but was having some doubts about the baptism and the sisters finally got to have the interview with me and she still had a lot of doubts but leaving the interview that I had with her she was super pumped and ready  to be baptized the next day, it was super cool, and we had the baptism interview with Nacho and Maricela :) haha they are so cool! Maricela is all out willing to do anything but Nacho, we can say is a little fearful haha he gets really nervous with everything and it’s kind of funny he’s kind of like Wimberly Worried haha I hope you remember that book mom ;), listening to all his worries and doubts about the baptism and whatever thing reminded me of myself before the mission haha, I just want to say sorry mom for always worrying haha and having fear of the unknown and Maricela was always like DONT BE AFRAID NACHO!! haha that reminded me of you mom haha always telling me not to stress or worry, haha

But Saturday finally rolled around, and we were able to have the Baptism of Ignacio (Nacho) and Maricela and Kenya (Investigator of sister missionaries) we had to put a seat in the font to baptize Maricela and Nacho, because they are a little older and can’t move as well but it was kinda funny because me and Elder Ramirez had to work together to baptize them he baptized Maricela and I baptized Nacho, while the other is baptizing, the other is holding their legs down in the water so they don’t pop up on from the seat haha it was a little funny but Nacho and Maricela did really good, and right before the baptism Nacho was kinda freaking out a little bit, and in the baptism interview he told Elder Ramirez that he wanted me to baptize him and so at his baptism he was like hey you’re going to baptize me right!? haha and I was just like yes sir haha and he did a little Tiger Woods fist pump and was like okay that’s good!! haha super cool guy, and we were able to confirm them Sunday, Elder Vaca was able to confirm Nacho and I confirmed Maricela, it was all super great, Thank you guys so much for your support I know that all your prayers have a great influence on these people please keep praying that we can find the people that are ready for this message, and share your testimonies I love you guys so much and thanks for all the prayers that you guys have offered in behalf of Nacho and Maricela and please keep praying that they can endure to the end, thank you guys so much and I love you guys so much thanks for everything,

Love Elder Tanner :) :) :)
Keep smiling

Maricela and Ignacio (Nacho) I was able to baptize Nacho and Elder Ramirez baptized Maricela

Payton and Syd sure look good ha :) and super crazy that Weston did that, but I thought he wasn’t the one that liked roller coasters ;) haha
This week was super good we had a stake conference Sunday and got to see President and we got to hear some awesome talks about the importance of the family it was super cool, because we had Nacho and Maricela there!! And this week we got them to accept to be baptized!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOO they’re baptism will be for this week Saturday!! we are super excited :) so we had them announce their baptism to all the stake in stake conference haha and Nacho was so happy when he heard their names haha it was super funny, and Maricela is inviting people from other wards to her baptism its super cool :) we are super excited and happy to see them commit to make this covenant, thank you guys so much for your prayers and please keep praying for them that they can be brave and make this decision :) thanks so much for everything everyone sorry for the short letter, but I’ll try and write more the next week I love YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!

I'm going to try and go to the Dr. and see what they say but also I'm going to call Hermana Munive, but no worries Mom I'll be fine, if it is Dengue I have already beat it once I can beat it again ;) haha but I think its just a little cold or the flu :) but thank you Mom :) but really dont worry
I love you guys to :)
Stay strong
Be faithful and
Love LOTS!!
